About Chesterfield Art Trail

Why does Chesterfield have such a large art trail? The Percent for Art scheme was created as part of Chesterfield’s Local Plan. It asks all schemes costing over £1m to include a work of art to the value of 1% of the total cost of the project.

More than 80 artworks make up this art trail around Chesterfield and North Derbyshire meaning it will take you several days to see them all, all the while enjoying the beautiful scenery of the Peak District.
