A Moth for Amy

Don't miss the flutter of moths at Hull's marina while enjoying an ice cream overlooking the beautiful Humber estuary.

A flutter of moths has landed in Hull! Hull-born aviator Amy Johnson, the first female pilot to fly solo from Britain to Australia, famously flew a De Havilland Gipsy Moth during her flying career. A Moth for Amy is a public art trail celebrating this pioneer of aviation as part of the UK City of Culture 2017 celebrations. The display of 59 unique moth artworks reflects the powerful inspiration of Amy Johnson and her amazing achievements. From 1 July 2016 the Moths remain where they have settled until 31 March 2017, seeing in Hull’s year as UK City of Culture.
