CAIRNS Sculpture Trail

From the shores of Iceland come the fantastic life-size Cairns sculptures by artist Steinunn Thórarinsdóttir. The sculptures form an art trail around the campus of the University of Hull reflecting the historic seafaring connection between Hull and Iceland.

Cairns are a common sight in coastal Iceland, being used to guide ships to harbour. Hull already has 1 Cairns at the entrance to the marina to celebrate the historic relationship between Iceland and the city but this new scultpture trail of 10 Cairns around the university campus demonstrates the diversity and artistry of these stunning sculptures.
