About Pendle Sculpture Trail

Launched in 2012 to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the trial of the Pendle witches, The Pendle Sculpture Trail takes you on a walk around Aitken Wood, near Barley in Lancashire. The sculpture trail has grown since it was first commissioned and includes sculptures by Philippe Handford, Martyn Bednarczuk and Ngaire Jackson. In addition, artist Sarah McDade has created ten specially designed ceramic plaques telling the story of the Pendle witches.

The sculptures are located along a well-marked path and there is a visitor centre and café on site where the art trail starts.
